Kudos to the BAA for their utmost professionalism and sensitivity in handling the 2013 race and offering guaranteed entry to those who were stopped before the finish line. If the logistics can be worked out, it would be great if a fourth wave can be added or the third wave expanded to accommodate the additional entrants!

Sehgahunda!
I had an awesome morning at Sehgahunda in Letchworth park today! Fantastic effort on the part of FF and YJR
organizers, the Fleet Feet Endurance Team, and the many volunteers and spectators who came out and helped with the event!
It was my first time participating in the event. I've heard and read great things about it, so was really looking forward to it. In its fourth year, the race is a true upstate NY trail running gem. The event has a full marathon (technically, 26.3) and a relay option. Kudos to all the folks who finished the full marathon, and especially the returning racers, awesome job!
I ran two legs (#2 and #4) as part of a women's relay team. The plan was to fun run it, with no particular time goal, and for sure, lots of fun was had!
The course is challenging, with a number of climbs, descents, gullies, and root-filled terrain. The course runs through a scenic state park located on the Genesee river bank, along a portion of the Finger Lakes Trail, plus the out-and-back segments to and from the checkpoints.
The day brought perfect weather conditions, cool and mostly dry, with just a bit of bonus mud on the trails, mainly in the sections leading to and from the checkpoints. The course was clearly marked, the aid stations at the checkpoints well stocked with food, gels, waffles, electrolyte and the usual goodies, plus great food at the finish. The cheers from volunteers and fellow runners, and of course Ellen at the finish, were great and very welcome.
